Introducing the

Truveta Genome Project

Creating the largest and most diverse database of genotypic and phenotypic information ever assembled

Genetic sequencing of tens of millions of Americans, 10x larger than any previous endeavor

Representing the full diversity of the US across ancestries, ethnicities, genders, and other social drivers of health

Enabling drug discovery, optimizing clinical trials, and transforming how diseases are prevented, diagnosed, and cured

Questions about the Truveta Genome Project?

“Nations have spent decades and billions of dollars to try and uncover the mysteries of biology to advance healthcare. Just like volunteering to be an organ donor on your driver’s license is a simple act of service with a profound impact, the Truveta Genome Project enables each of us to anonymously contribute to dramatically accelerate progress in discovering the science of humanity, improving the health of our families and communities, and lowering the cost of care. Discoveries from smaller datasets before today’s AI have led to important new approaches to help prevent heart disease and restore hearing in children with certain forms of congenital deafness – it is so exciting to envision where a complete representative genomic dataset will guide us.”

How it works

Consent

Healthcare sites obtain patient consent to use leftover biospecimens from routine lab tests.

Sequence

Biospecimens are genetically sequenced, while preserving patient anonymity. Leftover biospecimens are stored for future multi-omics sequencing.

Research

Genetic data is linked to de-identified medical records and added to Truveta Data for research.

Truveta Genome Project partners

“As health system leaders, we aspire to protect and care for the health of our communities – not treat diseases once they are already afflicted,” said Michael Dowling, Northwell Heath CEO. “The Truveta Genome Project has the potential to transform healthcare from treating disease to preventing disease, and we are excited to make it happen.”

Unprecedented data and AI will enable researchers to transform healthcare

The Truveta Genome Project enables each of us to anonymously contribute to dramatically accelerate progress in discovering the science of humanity, improving the health of our families and communities, and lowering the cost of care.

Understanding biology to advance medical research: Data representative of all populations

Unlocking the potential for research: From new discoveries to disease prevention

Unmatched scale and diversity to address health inequities

“The integration of genomics with the rich clinical data in Truveta has the potential to revolutionize patient care. By analyzing genetic information alongside clinical and environmental data, we can uncover how different populations are uniquely affected by their environments and develop targeted interventions to reduce health disparities. This approach ensures that all patients receive the most effective and personalized care. Together, we are paving the way for a more equitable and inclusive future in healthcare.”
